Nigeria’s Sovereignty: Archbishop Welby Urges Homegrown Solutions Over Foreign Intervention

Nigeria’s Sovereignty: Archbishop Welby Urges Homegrown Solutions Over Foreign Intervention

Dear Archbishop Welby, Thank you for insisting that Nigeria’s challenges be addressed by Nigerians rather than by outsiders. We appreciate your call for homegrown solutions. Too often, global politics overshadow the urgent threat of extremist violence here. We set up our government to protect us with the resources we provide through taxes. When it fails in that duty, we have the right to seek outside help to secure our safety. Former President Obasanjo has also affirmed this principle. At the end of the day, Nigerians must decide for themselves how to confront our own problems.
