Ronaldo’s Trophy Hunt Continues as Al-Nassr Falls to Gamba Osaka in AFC Champions League 2 Final
Cristiano Ronaldo is still waiting for his first major trophy in Saudi Arabia after Al-Nassr suffered a 1-0 defeat to Japan’s Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League 2 final. Gamba Osaka took the lead in the 29th minute when Deniz Hümmet converted Issam Jebali’s through ball, their only shot on target of the match. Despite controlling possession and creating chances, Al-Nassr could not force an equalizer in front of 26,000 fans in Riyadh. While Osaka became the first Japanese club to win this competition, Al-Nassr must now turn their attention to the Saudi Pro League title. A victory over Damac in their final match would secure the championship, their first since 2019.
