APC Chair Yilwatda Explains Why Party Is Tolerating Minister Wike

The APC National Chairman says the party continues to work with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike under a standing agreement with the PDP. He spoke in Abuja after meeting stakeholders to address disputes at ongoing party congresses in the FCT. Yilwatda warned founding members against letting defectors from other parties hijack APC affairs. He reminded them to resist pressure and maintain the party’s identity amid competing interests. He also revealed that over ₦250 million has been allocated for ward and state congresses in the FCT. He urged all stakeholders to set aside ethnic and religious divisions and ensure an inclusive, balanced process ahead of the 2027 elections.
