The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria reports that more than 9,000 pilgrims have arrived in Madinah since the 2026 Hajj airlift commenced. Flights from Kogi, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Lagos and other states have carried worshippers for a four-day stay before their onward journey to Makkah. Early departures included UMZA flight UMZ3501 with 473 pilgrims from Kogi, a Flynas flight carrying 418 Kebbi pilgrims and a MaxAir service with 560 pilgrims from Nasarawa. Subsequent flights have transported travellers from Oyo, Jigawa, Gombe, Osun and additional states under the commission’s airlift programme.
