This practice has led to cases where individuals involved in crime or corruption hold pastoral titles. Scripture warns against this. John 2:16 condemns a marketplace in God’s house, and 1 Timothy 5:22 urges us not to lay hands on anyone hastily. Church leaders should ensure that pastoral ministry remains a sacred office reserved for those truly called by God.
