Lagos Petrol Depot Prices Fall by Up to ₦18/L as Competition Rises

Depot prices for petrol have fallen across several Lagos terminals amid shifting supply dynamics and growing competition. Recent market data show ex-depot PMS prices dipped by between ₦1 and ₦18 per litre at most major depots, while diesel prices saw even steeper cuts in some locations. Rain Oil led the reductions, trimming its petrol price from ₦1,180 to ₦1,162 per litre. Dangote Refinery’s petrol rate remained almost unchanged at ₦1,176 per litre. Other terminals like A.A Rano, AIPEC, Bono, NIPCO and AITEO also cut their prices by between ₦1 and ₦4 per litre.

It sounds promising, but I wonder if these cuts really reflect fair competition or just temporary supply adjustments.

I'm not convinced the price drop will stick, depots often reverse cuts once supply competition fades.

Shoppers should compare terminal prices directly and plan bulk purchases when rates dip, that could save hundreds monthly.
