Crayon Reveals Tiwa Savage Gave Him His First ‘Backy’

Crayon Reveals Tiwa Savage Gave Him His First ‘Backy’

Nigerian singer Crayon has opened up about his relationship with Tiwa Savage and how she introduced him to smoking blunts. In a recent livestream with Carter Efe, the former Mavin Records artist admitted he had a huge crush on the 46-year-old star back in 2018. He says she asked if he smoked, handed him his first ‘Backy’ and sparked his blunt habit. ‘Backy’ refers to a mix of cannabis, tramadol, codeine or rohypnol rolled into a blunt, which Crayon says he’s used ever since that moment.

Do you believe that gift truly changed his public perception, or was it more of a media hype?

Are we sure that gesture really boosted his profile, or were other factors in play for Crayon's rise?

It's interesting he frames Tiwa's gift as a turning point, but smoking blunts is hardly unusual in music circles.

Maybe upcoming artists should focus on learning from Tiwa's work ethic rather than headline-grabbing stories about blunt gifts.
