Still Getting Unauthorized Debits After Replacing My GTBank Card Three Times

Still Getting Unauthorized Debits After Replacing My GTBank Card Three Times

I’ve received an email from GTBank after raising multiple complaints about unauthorised debits on my account. Despite replacing my ATM card three times, the same “local WEB” merchant kept charging my new details. Over ₦200,000 has been withdrawn without my consent. I’m consulting legal counsel and plan to close this account immediately. GTBank’s response so far feels negligent. It’s baffling how my card credentials were updated or tokenised without my knowledge each time I replaced the card. Banks must investigate why new cards didn’t block the same fraudulent transactions. After months of alerts and three card replacements, I no longer trust GTBank to protect my funds. I’ll visit the branch on Monday to close this account for good.

It seems odd that replacing a physical ATM card three times wouldn't stop the same merchant from charging your account.

Maybe this isn't all on GTBank; could be a breach of your online profile that keeps fueling those local WEB debits.

You might freeze your account and request a new account number, then set up transaction alerts to catch any unauthorized withdrawals immediately.
