NASENI Trains Kano Women in Solar Installation and Repair
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure has trained women in Kumbotso and Tarauni Local Government Areas of Kano State on solar installation, maintenance and repairs. The programme, delivered under the NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme, is intended to create income opportunities for participants while expanding access to clean-energy services in their communities. NASENI said the trainees can now offer practical solar technical support, including services for households that may prefer female technicians. The agency added that the initiative supports local skills development and Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy.
