Tinubu Celebrates Oyebanji’s Historic Back-to-Back Re-election

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election, praising the people of Ekiti for their peaceful and orderly conduct at the polls. In a statement from the Presidency, he commended security agencies for maintaining law and order and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to continue refining its processes ahead of the Osun governorship election in August and the 2027 general elections. The President noted that Oyebanji’s win makes him the first governor in Ekiti State’s history to secure re-election, calling it a vote of confidence in his BAO agenda on infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development. He urged the governor to govern inclusively, encouraged other candidates to support the renewed administration and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with Ekiti State to deliver the dividends of democracy.
