ABU Students Share ₦16m After Nigeria's Wins at Huawei ICT Global Finals
Ahmadu Bello University students have received cash rewards totalling ₦16 million after helping Nigeria win major prizes at the 2025/2026 Huawei ICT Skills Competition Global Finals in China. The students were honoured at the third Huawei Education Summit in Abuja. The competition, held from 2 to 5 June, featured 177 teams from 40 countries across Network, Cloud, Computing and AI/Innovation tracks. ABU students featured in Nigeria's second-place Computing team, two first-place Cloud teams, the all-female Network team that won a grand prize, and the AI/Innovation team that also won a grand prize for its ParaVision project. The summit brought together leaders of tertiary-education agencies, vice-chancellors, academics and ICT professionals to discuss how emerging technologies can strengthen digital education in Nigeria.
