Lagos Closes Oshodi Market After Violent Attack on Sanitation Officers
The Lagos State Government has ordered the closure of Oshodi Resettlement Market after traders attacked officials of the State Environmental Sanitation Corps during an enforcement operation. According to the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, officers were obstructed from arresting suspected hoodlums and beggars, and some operational vehicles were vandalised in the incident. The exercise took place on Monday in Oshodi. No date has been given for reopening while investigations and further enforcement actions are ongoing.
