Abuja Police Free Woman Chained for 16 Months, Hunt Underway for Missing Son

The FCT Police Command has rescued a 36-year-old woman who was held in chains by her brother in an Abuja home for over one year. Officers forced entry after the suspect refused them access and found her in a severely emaciated state under unsanitary conditions. Her brother, who allegedly took her son two years ago to prevent her from raising the alarm, has been arrested and remains in custody. The victim was rushed to hospital and is now receiving medical care. Police say investigations are ongoing and efforts to trace her missing child continue. The suspect will be charged in court once inquiries conclude.
