Buratai Urges Troops to ‘Keep Up Pressure, Don’t Let the Enemy Breathe’

Tukur Buratai says Nigerian forces have scored major victories against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and oil thieves across all theatres of operation. He highlighted successes in the North-East, where troops repelled an attack in Kukareta, killing 24 insurgents and seizing arms. A high-value ISWAP commander was neutralised in Yobe State, and precision airstrikes hit militant boats on Lake Chad. In the North-West and North-Central, soldiers dismantled bandit camps, recovered over 200 stolen cattle, rescued abductees and arrested suspects. Operation Delta Safe in Rivers State uncovered illegal oil bunkering sites and recovered large quantities of crude. In the South-East, security forces arrested a suspected IPOB commander linked to attacks. Buratai attributed the gains to improved intelligence, inter-agency cooperation and troop resilience. He urged Nigerians to keep sharing credible intelligence and called for sustained military pressure.
