Lagos Task Force Apprehends 226 Street Beggars for Repatriation

Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Task Force, with support from the Environmental Sanitation Corps, arrested 226 beggars across the state last Thursday. According to the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the operation forms part of the government’s daily clean-up and enforcement exercise. He said the aim is to boost public safety and uphold environmental standards. The apprehended individuals will be profiled, documented, and repatriated to their states of origin. Wahab added that the state remains committed to sustaining these enforcement efforts to keep Lagos clean, safe, and well-organized.
