Russian Missile Strikes on Kyiv Kill 9, Injure 28
At least nine people were killed and 28 others, including four children, were injured after Russian missile strikes hit Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. The attack damaged residential buildings and sparked fires across several areas. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said five districts of Kyiv were hit. Mayor Vitali Klitschko had earlier warned residents to take shelter as ballistic missiles approached the city. The strikes came amid intensified cross-border attacks between Russia and Ukraine. Kyiv is also urging its Western allies to provide stronger air-defence support. The United Nations said June was Ukraine’s deadliest month for civilians since April 2022.
