Oyo Police Free Headmaster Hours After ₦30m Ransom Demand

Oyo Police Free Headmaster Hours After ₦30m Ransom Demand

Police in Oyo State have rescued Mr. Mathew Owoade, a headmaster and farmer, after he was abducted along the Igbojaye–Budo Aare road. He regained his freedom on the evening of July 13, just a day after kidnappers seized him on July 12. A joint security operation forced the abductors to abandon the victim. He was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Investigators will debrief him to help track down and prosecute those responsible. The Commissioner of Police praised community members and other security agencies for their support. He reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and urged residents to report suspicious activities through the state’s toll-free call centre.
