Power Force Initiative to Train 5,000 Nigerians for Smart Meter Deployment

NASENI Executive Vice Chairman Khalil Halilu has welcomed the launch of the Federal Government’s Power Force initiative, saying it could support electricity access and youth employment. The programme is designed to train 5,000 young Nigerians in technical skills for the deployment of smart electricity meters nationwide. It forms part of the administration’s wider power-sector reform plans. Halilu said expanding local technical capacity and indigenous manufacturing would be important for energy security, industrialisation and long-term job creation.
