NASENI and NELFUND Forge Partnership to Boost Youth Skills and Industrial Growth

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) welcomed the Managing Director of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, to its headquarters in Idu, Abuja. The visit, led by NASENI’s CEO Mr. Khalil Halilu, highlighted plans to join forces on youth empowerment and Nigeria’s industrial transformation. Delegates toured NASENI’s cutting-edge facilities and reviewed ongoing projects aimed at increasing local production and self-reliance. Discussions focused on a structured collaboration where NASENI will design hands-on training programmes and NELFUND will support these efforts through its education financing framework. The proposed partnership seeks to equip young Nigerians with industry-relevant skills, enhance employability, and drive entrepreneurship. Both agencies expressed optimism about the initiative’s potential to advance national priorities in youth development and sustainable economic growth, with further engagement planned to finalize the implementation framework.
