UNN Celebrates 168 First-Class Graduates Among 12,895 at 55th Convocation
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka held its 55th Convocation ceremony, awarding degrees and diplomas to 12,895 graduates. A total of 168 students graduated with First Class honours. Among the recipients, 10,641 earned first degrees and diplomas, while 2,944 completed postgraduate programmes, including 1,390 PhDs, 1,340 master’s degrees and 214 postgraduate diplomas. Four honorary doctorates will be conferred, including one to the First Lady of Nigeria. Two eminent scholars will be granted Professor Emeritus status in recognition of their contributions. The Convocation Lecture is scheduled for July 23 and will be delivered by the Governor of Enugu State. Under the current administration, major quota increases took effect in Medicine and Dentistry.
