Igbo Businessman Urges FG to Execute Nnamdi Kanu for South-East Peace

An Igbo entrepreneur on a national TV programme argued that executing IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu would restore security and normalcy in the South-East. He cited drops in violence after the arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa as evidence. Kanu’s legal team condemned the call as reckless and unlawful. In a statement, his Special Counsel warned it undermines due process and may breach Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act and Criminal Code, carrying fines or imprisonment. The lawyer also criticised the broadcaster for airing comments likely to incite violence and demanded a public retraction and apology.
