Despite the home victory, Malawi fell 3-2 on aggregate as Oscar Precious’s 62nd-minute strike secured Nigeria’s place in Poland 2026. Faith Chinzimu gave Malawi the lead in the ninth minute and doubled her tally early in the second half to level the tie. However, the Falconets regained the advantage midway through the period and held on for qualification.
