Super Eagles Defender Chidozie Awaziem Joins Konyaspor on Two-Year Deal
Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has joined Turkish Süper Lig club Konyaspor on a permanent two-year deal from Nantes. The 29-year-old will wear the No. 15 shirt during the 2026/27 season. Awaziem returns to Turkey after previous loan spells at Çaykur Rizespor and Alanyaspor. He made 16 league appearances for Rizespor in 2018/19, then scored once in 18 league matches for Alanyaspor in 2021/22. The centre-back began his professional career at FC Porto and has also played for Leganés, Boavista, Hajduk Split, FC Cincinnati and Colorado Rapids. He has represented Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup and four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
