Anambra Digitises Cooperatives to Unlock Loans and Global Grants

Anambra Digitises Cooperatives to Unlock Loans and Global Grants — 1 of 4
1 / 4

The state government unveiled a reform agenda at the International Cooperative Day celebration in Awka. It will strengthen cooperative societies through a statewide revalidation and digitisation exercise to build a transparent, functional database. Implemented with the Cooperative Federation of Anambra State, the reforms include a comprehensive policy framework to drive financial inclusion, grassroots development, and empowerment for women and youth. All active societies will register under the Ministry of Commerce and affiliate with the federation to improve coordination. An advisory council will boost governance and accountability. Cooperatives will gain access to Bank of Industry intervention funds, development partner financing, and international grants. Leaders are urged to embrace unity, transparency, and accountability to drive sustainable growth.
