Arepo Residents Protest Unreliable Power Supply at Ikeja Electric Office

Concerned residents and business owners in Arepo, Ogun State, staged a peaceful protest at the Ikeja Electric office in Alausa. They demanded answers after enduring just two to five hours of electricity daily despite being on Band B tariff. Protesters called out repeated outages, damaged appliances, spoiled food and estimated billing practices. They urged the utility to replace faulty cables and clarify any load rationing policy. Ikeja Electric’s technical lead in charge of Arepo attributed the situation to a reduced national grid allocation. He commended the peaceful demonstration and advised residents to submit formal complaints for management review.

Are you suggesting they focus more on upgrading lines or improving outage communication with Arepo residents?

Are we sure equipment upgrades alone would cut those outages, or is the billing and revenue collection the bigger bottleneck?

It's odd that Band B customers in Ogun State only get such limited supply despite paying higher tariffs. Something doesn't add up.

Protesting at the office might not be the most effective approach. Could residents explore other channels before staging demonstrations?

Record every outage with dates and duration, then file detailed complaints through Ikeja Electric's customer service portals or in person at their Alausa office.
