Tansian University Denies Sacking Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor, Blames Ex-Registrar for False Letter

Tansian University Denies Sacking Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor, Blames Ex-Registrar for False Letter

Tansian University’s management has dismissed reports that its Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Edwin S.C. Obiorah and Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Ellis Idemobi, were removed from office. The university called the claims “false, malicious, and laughable,” noting that Rev. Daniel Igwilo, who issued the removal letter, ceased to be Registrar on June 3, 2025. In a joint statement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eugene Nwadialor and Registrar & Secretary to Council Rev. Dr. Innocent Anthony Uke said Igwilo’s exit followed findings of gross misconduct and fund misappropriation. His employment was terminated on April 10, 2026. The university urged the public to avoid dealing with him on any university matters and reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and integrity.

I understand this is confusing—do we know which documents or testimonies the ex-registrar presented?

Haha, you're spot on. We need those receipts to believe any removal story.

It seems odd the university would call those allegations laughable without publishing the original letter.

The management's quick denial might just be a way to hide internal power struggles.

Universities should publish official statements and supporting documents when disputing serious allegations to prevent misinformation from spreading.
