Fake JAMB Coordinator Arrested at Atani Cyber Café, Anambra State

Police operatives from the IGP’s Safe School Initiative and Anambra State Command arrested a man posing as the official JAMB 2026 coordinator in Atani. The suspect, identified as Eric Nwombu, was collecting examination slips from students checking their exam centres at a local cyber café. Café staff grew suspicious and alerted officers on duty. On seeing the police approach, he tried to flee but was apprehended. Investigators recovered eight original JAMB slips and an exercise book listing student names and numbers. A preliminary investigation has begun. The suspect will be transferred to SCID Awka for further questioning. The Commissioner of Police urged the public to report any suspicious activity around exam centres.
