Ondo State Moves to Develop Its Blue Economy Through New Implementation Committees

Ondo State is taking further steps towards developing its Blue Economy through collaboration between the Office of the Senior Special Adviser on Marine and Blue Economy and OSOPADEC. Strategic implementation committees have been inaugurated to advance the initiative. The state’s coastline could support fisheries, coastal tourism, maritime technology, renewable energy, conservation and youth employment. Realising these opportunities will require sustainable planning and investment. Government, private businesses, researchers, development partners, traditional institutions and coastal communities all have roles to play. The goal is to create jobs, strengthen food security, attract investment and protect the marine environment.
