Bayelsa Police Nab Two Suspected Cultists Plotting Revenge for NDU Student’s Murder
The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested two suspected cult members in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. They were allegedly planning to avenge the killing of a Niger Delta University student. On July 7, Ebube Jonathan, a 200-level Management Science student, was attacked along Kabaka Street in Amassoma. He was hacked and shot before being confirmed dead by a medical doctor. Acting on a swift intelligence report, police detained 24-year-old Godswin Adobu and 21-year-old Tarilaefa Fesingha. Officers also recovered a locally made pistol and live 9mm ammunition. The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fighting cultism and violent crime. He urged residents to provide timely information to help rid Bayelsa State of criminal elements.
