1 / 4

The Ekiti State Government has stepped up its collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force to enhance operations at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport and reinforce security across the state. Governor Biodun Oyebanji led the discussions during a working visit to Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. The government has allocated 1,000 hectares of land with a Certificate of Occupancy for a permanent Air Force facility. It has also committed to providing any additional support needed to ensure full operational readiness and bolster confidence in the airport’s safety and functionality. Air Marshal Aneke commended the governor’s visionary leadership. He confirmed the Air Force’s eagerness to deepen the partnership and revealed plans under discussion with international partners to establish an aircraft repair and overhaul centre at the airport. This strategic move is expected to boost capacity, create jobs, and drive economic growth in the region.
