Lagos Accelerates Delivery of 2,000+ Affordable Homes in Ibeju-Lekki Before Sanwo-Olu’s Exit

Lagos Accelerates Delivery of 2,000+ Affordable Homes in Ibeju-Lekki Before Sanwo-Olu’s Exit

The Lagos State Government has pledged to complete over 2,000 housing units in Abraham Adesanya and Sangotedo on the Ibeju-Lekki axis before Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration ends. The Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, led a site inspection and urged contractors to speed up work. Four major schemes are being delivered through Public-Private Partnerships to expand access to affordable homes. While overall progress is solid, some sites have faced technical setbacks and cost increases due to inflation. The ministry will intensify project monitoring and can sanction or replace any contractors who fail to meet agreed deadlines. If progress improves, allocations could begin between October and November.
