Team Nigeria Secures Three Golds at African Taekwondo Championships in Mali
Nigeria’s 13-member squad delivered one of its best continental performances at the World Taekwondo-sanctioned G-4 event in Mali. Aderibigbe Faridah kicked off the gold rush by topping the Freestyle Poomsae event. She paired with Salawudeen Abdulafeez to claim silver in Pair Poomsae. Haruna Usman added a second gold in the U-40 Male Poomsae division. Para-Taekwondo star Mathew Udom dominated the -57kg Kyorugi class to secure the third gold. Bronze medals also came from Joel Jordan (+87kg) and Chidinma Okoko (62kg). Morocco topped the overall medal table with six golds. Host nations Niger and Côte d’Ivoire impressed in the Kyorugi team standings, while Niger’s Nouridine Issaka was named tournament MVP.
