ADC Convention Disrupted as Venue Owner Withdraws Approval Under FCDA Pressure
The national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) hit a snag when the proprietor of Abuja’s Rainbow Event Centre revoked permission just days before the event. The venue owner cited pressure from the Federal Capital Development Authority and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike. Despite signing the contract and paying all fees, the ADC insists it will go ahead with the convention as planned. The setback follows disputes over Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola Stadium access. It also comes amid a leadership crisis after INEC withdrew recognition of the David Mark faction and the Supreme Court appeal looms.
