Rivers Police Discipline Officer After Suspect Escapes CID Custody

The Rivers State Police Command has launched disciplinary proceedings against ASP Ekawhe Thomas over a suspect’s escape from the Criminal Investigation Department. According to Force Spokesperson ASP Blessing Agabe, Thomas has been detained and formally issued a query in line with police disciplinary procedures. Officers are actively working to recapture the fleeing suspect as investigations continue. Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju expressed displeasure at the incident and stressed the command’s commitment to professionalism. He warned that any officer found negligent or guilty of misconduct will face sanctions under extant laws.
