Tems to Perform with Music Legends at Obama Presidential Center Opening
Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Tems will headline the opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago on June 18. She joins an all-star lineup that includes John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera and U2’s Bono and The Edge. According to the Obama Foundation, the invite-only event hosted by Barack and Michelle Obama will feature music, storytelling and reflections on the values that shaped the Obama presidency. It will be livestreamed globally for audiences around the world. Tems is the only Nigerian act among the performers, marking a major milestone in her global career. The sprawling Chicago campus opens to the public on June 19, with a museum, educational centres and community spaces.
