Made Kuti Breaks Silence on Drug Rumours Surrounding His Family

Afrobeat singer Made Kuti has dismissed the idea that all members of the Kuti dynasty use narcotics. Speaking on the sidelines of the United States’ 250th Independence Day celebrations in Lagos, he said many people assume he and his relatives smoke or use drugs. "A lot of people think I smoke, but I don’t, and even my dad has quit. So there is a big misconception that the family are all into narcotics, but most of us are not," he clarified. When asked to describe himself in three words, Made chose hardworking, loyal and passionate, joking that loyalty fits because he’s a married man. He also revealed that the Nigerian artiste he listens to most is his grandfather.
