US Ramps Up Missile Production as Iran Rejects US Ceasefire Proposal

The US Department of Defense has struck three new contracts with defence contractors to boost missile and component output. Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and Honeywell will expand production of THAAD seeker heads, Precision Strike Missiles and critical navigation systems to replenish stocks used in the Middle East conflict. Iranian state media report that Iran has dismissed a US-backed peace plan delivered via backchannel diplomacy. Tehran insists it will set its own terms for any ceasefire and has outlined five conditions, including an end to aggression, regional guarantees and compensation for damage. As tensions rise, both sides appear to be preparing for a prolonged standoff, with Iran emphasizing its right to sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and control over the war’s end.
