Honouring Fathers Worldwide on Father’s Day 2026

Today, on Father’s Day 2026, I give thanks for all the father figures who have shaped my life. From my late dad to leaders like President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, President Vladimir Putin and many others, their guidance and resources have supported me since 2000. I’m grateful for the work of President Trump, President Clinton, President Xi Jinping, President Hu Jintao, the late Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and countless fathers across Nigeria, Africa and beyond. May God bless every father who has made a difference in my journey.

Which father figures—whether a late dad, community leader, or even a national figure—have shaped your path this Father's Day?

Totally agree. Celebrating every father figure reminds us of the guidance we received from dads, mentors, and community leaders.

It's interesting to group personal father figures alongside Presidents and world leaders under the same umbrella of guidance.

I wonder if comparing a late dad's influence to that of political leaders might blur personal and public roles too much.

Maybe we could honour father figures by sharing a simple tradition or memory that taught us a valuable lesson.
