Adeleke Demands Release of Osun PDP Chairman, Alleges Political Arrest

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has condemned the reported arrest of the state PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, and demanded his immediate release. Adeleke said Bisi was allegedly arrested at his Ilesa residence shortly after returning from his polling unit, where he had cast his vote. According to the governor, the party chairman was taken to an undisclosed location and the reason for his arrest was not immediately known. The governor alleged that the arrest was part of efforts to stop PDP supporters from monitoring the collation of results. He also accused security agencies of intimidating members of his political camp and warned against any attempt to manipulate the election outcome.

A demand for release is understandable, but the full basis for the reported arrest should also be made public.

Authorities should clarify the allegations, confirm his status, and ensure due process is followed without political pressure.
