Ex-ADC Lawmaker Abba Anas Adamu Dies in Kidnappers’ Captivity After N50m Ransom
Abba Anas Adamu, a former House of Representatives member from Jigawa State and senior ADC chieftain, died in captivity after being abducted alongside Ali Tukur Gantsa while travelling from Kano to Abuja. The kidnappers initially demanded N100 million but later accepted N50 million. After the ransom was paid, Gantsa was released, and Adamu’s body was handed over to his family. His condition worsened in the bush as he lacked his asthma and hypertension medication. The ADC’s Jigawa chapter has yet to issue an official statement. Fellow party leader Sabon Nakudu confirmed the killing on social media and offered prayers for Adamu’s soul.
