Arteta Backs Maresca to Thrive at Man City After Guardiola Exit

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has backed Enzo Maresca to succeed at Manchester City following Pep Guardiola’s departure. Speaking before Sunday’s Community Shield clash, Arteta said Maresca has the personality, character and tactical knowledge to make a major impact at City. He added that the former Chelsea manager was chosen for good reasons and has proved himself at different levels. Arteta also praised Guardiola’s 10-year spell at City, describing his former boss as the best coach in football history. Guardiola won 20 major trophies with the club and, according to Arteta, raised the standard of the Premier League.
