UNIZIK Engineering Lecture Series Champions Agripreneurship and Oil & Gas Innovation
On July 23, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering at Nnamdi Azikiwe University held its annual Lecture Series on “Engineering Pathways to Economic Sustainability.” Policymakers, industry leaders, and education stakeholders explored opportunities in agripreneurship and the oil and gas sector. Speakers described engineers as nation builders and urged practical, market-driven solutions. The Vice-Chancellor highlighted plans to launch Africa’s first virtual engineering laboratory. Panelists stressed the need for value innovation in agriculture and energy to drive Nigeria’s economic growth. Initiatives proposed included an Engineering Enterprise Incubation Centre and practical enterprise components in every curriculum. Awards recognized outstanding contributions to the country’s energy and agricultural development.
