Ogun Police Rescue Three Children, Arrest Couple Over Clinic Child Stealing
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a husband and wife in Mowe for allegedly abducting a four-month-old baby and rescued three children during the operation. Police said detectives acted on a May 17 complaint from a clinic patient whose baby was reported missing. The female suspect had offered to help with the child before fleeing with the infant. A targeted manhunt led officers to a hideout in Kekere Ekun on May 18. At the scene, police recovered the stolen baby and two other children. One of the rescued minors matched a missing-child report from a 2024 hair salon abduction. Two families have already identified and reclaimed their children. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further probe and possible prosecution. The Ogun CP praised Mowe Division officers for their professionalism and pledged to sustain the fight against child trafficking and abduction.
