SA Summons US Ambassador Over ‘Kill the Boer’ Remarks as EFF Demands Expulsion
South Africa has summoned US Ambassador Leo Brent Bozell III after he criticised the country’s policies at a business conference. He labelled the ‘Kill the Boer’ chant as hate speech and urged South Africans to align with US interests. The ANC responded by reaffirming its commitment to multilateralism and warning that South Africa will not be dictated to by any foreign power. Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula stressed that the country welcomes investment but remains independent in its international relations. The EFF, led by Julius Malema, called Bozell’s comments “arrogant and entitled”. They defended the chant as free speech and demanded the ambassador’s removal. They also accused the US administration of being “warmongering” and “child-killing.”
