Seven-Year Jail Terms Upheld for Two Nigerians in Kuwait Robbery Case
Two Nigerians had their seven-year, six-month sentences upheld by Kuwait’s Second Circuit Court of Appeal. They were convicted of armed robbery at a Mahboula currency exchange in January 2025. Judges Nasr Salem Al-Haid, Mutaib Al-Aradhi, and Saud Al-Sane confirmed the jail terms on July 20, 2026. Prosecutors said the defendants used a fake gun to force staff to hand over cash. A fifth suspect received six months after admitting to helping conceal stolen funds and distribute money. Four defendants were present for sentencing; one was tried in absentia. The case was reported by local media.
