Falz Explains Why He Chose Music Over Legal Practice
Nigerian rapper and actor Falz says he chose music over legal practice because balancing both careers became increasingly difficult as his public profile grew. Falz studied law at the University of Reading, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012, and attended the Nigerian Law School in Abuja. He said music brought him widespread recognition, making a full-time legal career harder to sustain. Speaking on a podcast, he recalled appearing in court and being recognised by a judge for his entertainment work. According to him, greater fame could have created distractions in court and made clients question whether he had enough time for legal practice.
