Frank Edwards Says Recording ‘Mma Mma’ While Squatting Led to ₦4m Deal

Nigerian gospel singer Frank Edwards has shared how he recorded one of his breakthrough songs while squatting and struggling to make ends meet. He said his mother gave him ₦150,000 in 2011 to set up a small studio. He used it to build a modest recording space in a corner of the room where he lived. Edwards said he recorded “Mma Mma” under a blanket to block out roadside noise. According to him, the song changed his career and led to a ₦4 million recording deal. He recalled signing the agreement immediately because he was focused on escaping hardship.
