THE IGEDE PEOPLE OF BENUE STATE

THE IGEDE PEOPLE OF BENUE STATE — 1 of 3
1 / 3

IGEDE PEOPLE OF BENUE STATE Igede Agba are Bekwarra siblings found both in Benue state and Yala Local Government of cross river state respectively... History has it that they both migrated from Ancient Obudu in present day Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River state. They were in Bekwarra before they later migrated upward to join Yala reason being that Bekwarra land was not fertile for food cultivation. They have both cultural and linguistic ties with the Bekwarra people including same day of new yam festival celebration. This is their cultural attire. Ushie Sunday Historian
