Police Arrest Man Over Alleged ₦2.5m Jerusalem Pilgrimage Scam in Ogun
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Kehinde Makinde, also known as Pastor Kenny, over allegations that he defrauded fellowship members through a fake Jerusalem pilgrimage scheme. Police said Makinde was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, on August 3, after four months of investigation. He allegedly collected about ₦2.5 million from 18 members in the Saje-Adatan area of Abeokuta, Ogun State. The victims were reportedly told the money was for a government-sponsored pilgrimage to Jerusalem and that each participant would receive ₦2 million. Police also allege that he offered fraudulent spiritual deliverance services in Ogun, Oyo and Osun states. The suspect remains in custody as detectives work to identify other possible victims and arrest any accomplices.
