Former Edo State Permanent Secretary Dr. Felix Ekhaguere Dies at 84
Dr. Felix Amasihohu Ekhaguere passed away in Benin City on Monday, June 1, 2026, after a brief illness. He served as Permanent Secretary in Edo State’s Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Natural Resources. His son, Engr. Osaretin Ekhaguere, described him as a devoted family man and a distinguished physician. He said his father touched countless lives with his wisdom, kindness and unwavering faith. Born on October 26, 1941, in Utoka village, Dr. Ekhaguere rose from Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to Medical Director at Central Hospital, Benin City. A devout Catholic, he led the New Benin Subordinate Council of the Knights of St. Mulumba. He is survived by his wife, Sweet Madagwa Ekhaguere, six children and twelve grandchildren.
